Mission Update:
Well, we are doing quite
well with our missions so far this year. To date, we have
raised $170 for the Gardener's Basket from Heifer International.
We also raised just over $100 for the Operation Christmas
Child mission to help offset shipping costs! Starting with
our next meeting on December 4th, we will start collecting
for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I hope all
of you are ok with picking a charity that I am very involved
in. I discussed it with Sue Brooks and she thought it was
a great cause. It will be kids helping kids and local kids
at that. We will collecting to help Wear 'n Share with socks
and underwear. These are the most requested items, but the
items we are least likely to receive. We really only give
new underwear and we do give used socks if they are in good
condition. But, often we cannot provide these, especially
underwear. This time, we will give the kids the opportunity
to donate socks and/or underwear, or any money we receive
will go to Wear 'n Share to allow Kerri Howell, the founder,
to purchase these items as needed. Just last month, Wear
'n Share helped 118 kids. There are so many kids in need
and I think this is another opportunity to teach the kids
in our Sunday School about helping others who are just like
them, but just need some clothes.
Of course, Wear 'n Share is always taking
donations of clothes, shoes, coats, hats, mittens, etc.
I just wanted to help with this area that we tend to be
low on.
We now have "Mission"
offering envelopes to help with our cause. They are available
near the sign-out sheet. Feel free to grab several! This
is a way for the kids to feel like they are giving an offering
just as you do in church. You can give each child one (we
will collect in the classrooms) or send one per family.
It is totally up to you.
In addition, we plan on
collecting for Operation Christmas Child in the coming weeks.
Since we will change our
mission several times through the year, please feel free
to let us know if you have any ideas for future missions.

Holy Cross Security Policies:
At Holy Cross we treat the
safety and well being of all our members, guests and visitors
with the uppermost importance. To help protect the community,
Holy Cross has the following policies in place:
All of our staff, teachers and helpers
have been screened by LexisNexis® to help establish
confidence in our past behaviors; but we recognize that
this is not sufficient to protect both our students and
our helpers.
We use a two teacher per classroom
policy. There will be at least two adult teachers or helpers
assigned to each Sunday School class.
There should never be any child left
alone with any adult who is not a family member.
All of our classrooms have windowed
doors and we have an open door policy. Family members are
always welcome to join their children in class.
