April Message from Pastor Randy

Dear Holy Cross,

A father and son were driving to worship on a Sunday morning. Their route led them by a local cemetery. As the young boy looked out his window he noticed a large pile of dirt next to one of the gravestones. He suddenly exclaimed, “Look, dad, one got out!”

He Is Risen

He is risen! He is risen indeed! One did get out, and Jesus’ resurrection means that 1) Jesus really is who He said He is, the Christ, the very Son of God; 2) all of His teachings are true, so we can trust every word He said; 3) God the Father accepted Jesus’ perfect sacrifice in our place; we are forgiven and free; and 4) every believer in Christ will also “get out of his/her grave” and rise to eternal life when Jesus comes back!

In the joy and hope of Easter!

Pastor Randy Update

Plans continue to move forward for the Rozelle family. I have already started classwork at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. My first class is “An Introduction to Research and Writing.” My second class is “Expository Preaching and the Old Testament.” As anticipated, the reading and writing expectations for the Doctor of Ministry degree are intense, but I also enjoy the challenge and the continued learning. I will attend all-day classes on the Louisville campus from July 13-17. My early challenge is beginning to think of an argument to sustain for a 120-page dissertation.

In addition, God has opened up a house for our family in the Wheatfield community, and we are hoping to officially move on Saturday, April 18. I will then commute to Holy Cross to wrap up some final things, as well as begin to pack up 10 years of books and papers from my office. We hope to put our current house on the market in May.

Thank you for your continued prayers and interest throughout this next transition in life. God continues to awe us with His steadfast love and faithfulness to all generations!
