May Message from Pastor Randy

289160810_640Family and Friends of Holy Cross,

As we continue in the joy of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we have even more to celebrate at Holy Cross! On Sunday, May 3rd, we have five 8th graders who will be confirmed in their baptismal faith and receive first communion!

  • Stephen Hare
  • Trenton Kelkenberg
  • Paige Randall
  • Sydney Randall
  • Matthew Wiepert

We not only celebrate their presence at Holy Cross, but we celebrate the significance of this day in their walk with the Lord:

1) These youth will make a bold, personal and public confession of their faith in Jesus Christ. This is not their parent’s faith, their pastor’s faith, nor their church’s faith; it’s their faith in Jesus. They are taking ownership of their faith and publicly putting a voice to the faith that was given them by the Holy Spirit in the waters of baptism. Our Lord says in Matthew 10:32-33, “Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven.”

2) They will make the lifelong pledge to cling to Jesus no matter what — even if they must give up their very lives for Jesus’ sake! Is there any more important and monumental promise in life? And Jesus promises them and all believers in Revelation 2:10, “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Confirmation Sunday is May 3rd at 11:00am worship! A cake reception for these youth will follow in Krampitz Hall. Celebrate their commitment. Renew your own commitment. And let us keep following Jesus at all cost, for He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

In Jesus,
