Sunday School

SSlogoThe 2016/17 Sunday School theme “GROWING in CHRIST” will be based around the following scripture verse :

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18

Your child will learn about their Savior, Jesus Christ, as we get to the heart of the bible and engage them with age-appropriate discussions. Through crafts, games, and worship music your child will experience a hands-on way to learn and internalize Bible stories!

Mark your calendar for this year’s Rally Day (The day the church celebrates the first day of Sunday School):
Sunday, September 11th @ 9:30am!

Holy Cross offers Sunday School for ages 3 to 103. Preschool through High School ages meet in our HCCC building from 9:30 until 10:30 during the school year. There is an Adult Bible Study conducted in the church hall at the same time, as well as Pastor-led Confirmation class, so parents can learn God’s word at the same time as their children are.

The kids not only learn about God, but also make friendships that could last a lifetime. Everyone is welcome! We hold a wonderful Christmas program every year and continue the fun each summer with VBS.  Feel free to check out that tab as well for more information.

Luther’s Morning Prayer

I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger. Keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please you. Into your hands I commend my body and soul and all things. Let your holy angel be with me, that the wicked foe may have no power over me. Amen.

Luther’s Evening Prayer

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have graciously kept me this day; and I pray that You would forgive me all my sins where I have done wrong, and graciously keep me this night. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen

Mealtime Prayer

Lord God, heavenly Father, bless us and these Your gifts, which we receive from Your bountiful goodness, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen

Holy Cross Security Policies:

At Holy Cross we treat the safety and well being of all our members, guests and visitors with the uppermost importance. To help protect the community, Holy Cross has the following policies in place:

  • All of our staff, teachers and helpers have been screened by LexisNexis® to help establish confidence in our past behaviors; but we recognize that this is not sufficient to protect both our students and our helpers.
  • We use a two teacher per classroom policy. There will be at least two adult teachers or helpers assigned to each Sunday School class.
  • There should never be any child left alone with any adult who is not a family member.
  • All of our classrooms have windowed doors and we have an open door policy. Family members are always welcome to join their children in class.
